While useful for modders they can be distracting for viewers, so you can turn them off in General Options->Show Model Names You may have to look around in the viewer to find them but they are spawned. Some maps may be spawned away from the origin. You can spawn multiple maps at once and see how they connect together. Go into General Options and enable Lightmapping. Maps can be viewed with their lightmaps applied to make them appear closer to in game. From here you can select your specific game, load maps, characters, map collision data, and even load all the characters in the game in a straight line for you to look at at once. The most interesting menu item is Game Data. Click Help in the menu to get a cheatsheet of all the controls for both controllers and M&KB Right click to go back to the previous menu. You can also hold the spacebar and use your mouse wheel to browse menu items. You can use your mouse to hover over menu options, click to activate your selection, and use your left and right keyboard arrows to browse through the options for a menu item. Mouse and keyboard are also fully supported. Press select on your controller to switch between the menu and flying through the scene. The viewer supports XBox and, with appropriate drivers, PS4 controllers. Once you get into the viewer: here's some tips and features you can try: Note that for UXM, patching the executable is not required when it asks, and using these tools alone will NOT get you banned. Support of loading the files without extracting them first is something that can be looked into in future releases. For DS2, DS2 SotFS, and DS3, UXM must be used to extract the respective games' archives and can be found here. not Remastered) the game expects that the archives have been extracted by UDSFM (Unpack dark souls for modding), which can be found here. To use it, simply select the executable of the game you want to use the viewer for on startup, or change the game path inside the viewer's "Game Data" menu. The latest version of the viewer, along with its full source code, is available on github here: Screenshots of the viewer and its capabilities are in this album. It is by no means perfect and has a lot of features/bug fixes needed to make it truly shine, but it is still very useful and interesting in its current state-especially for the best supported game: DS1. We've since moved on to other DS related modding projects, but I figured the community would have great interest in the viewer, so I spent some time polishing it up for a public release. New features were added, including the ability to view the game's collision meshes and apply the game's lightmaps on the maps' models. TKGP and I, seeing the potential, joined the project and extended the viewer to support Demon's Souls, DS2, DS3, Bloodborne, and even an obscure From game based on the Demon's Souls engine called Ninja Blade (which does have a PC version on Steam!). This model viewer was capable of loading and previewing all the models and maps in the game, and had an easy to use interface inspired from the Dark Souls debug menu that supports controllers. To help with our reverse engineering and modding efforts, Meowmaritus wrote a brand new model viewer for DS1 from scratch built on top of Monogame a couple months ago.
